Welcome!
I am Klaus Lederer, a member of the DIE LINKE parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives and spokesperson for queer and drug policy, as well as a member of the Committee for Health and Care.
About me
I was born in 1974 in Mecklenburg and grew up in Frankfurt/Oder. After the end of the GDR, I became involved in left-wing youth organisations and, since 1992, in the Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS).
My 1990s were filled with studying law up to my doctorate at Humboldt University in Berlin and working in local politics for the PDS. In December 2005, I was elected state chairman of the Left Party in Berlin. I remained at the head of the state organisation until December 2016.
From 2003 to January 2017, I was a member of the House of Representatives, the parliament of the federal state of Berlin, where I was the legal policy spokesperson for the DIE LINKE parliamentary group. I have been a member of the Left Party parliamentary group in the House of Representatives again since 2021, where I am currently the spokesperson for queer and drug policy and a member of the Committee for Health and Care.
From December 2016 to April 2023, I was Mayor and Senator for Culture and Europe in Berlin.
